The game that taught me punk aesthetic nearly a decade before i heard the music. One of my absolute favorites as a kid, i still think the soundtrack rules also.
When I got a Genesis for my birthday when I was 9 my mom let me pick 1 extra game so I didn't just have Sonic and that was the one I picked.

I mean the fucker has a mohawk and sunglasses, a car hoisted over his head, and hes about to crush a dude wielding a giant flamethrower. What the fuck else on the shelf is gonna have a cooler picture on the cover art?? Lol

It was a choice between that Kid Chameleon and Mercs based solely on the cover art lol. I remember it was at Toys r Us and I kept going back and forth and looking at the cover art in those little plastic sleeves with the slips you had to take up to the register and then go get your game out of a separate booth/cage area.

buying games back then was an experience in of itself. Those cages were awesome and just felt like such a big deal waiting outside while someone fetched your game.

The best part of the entire store was the console aisle that had all the systems in that giant glass case that stretched the entire length of the store. Or at least as a kid it seemed that long, in reality it was probably 25 feet lol.
