Pics of the PCBs go a long want to show that it's not a typical converted cart - at least not by traditional means (desoldering/soldering by hand).

Why would anyone care about the PCBs? They prove nothing since the games are already known to exist in other regions. It's the packaging that's in question.

With this happening like it is, nobody can claim up this point to have ever had a truly complete neo collection.
Well one can have a complete collection of SNK Neo-Geo AES games that actually went for sale and were officially distributed to stores.

Aero Fighters 3 and these Power Spikes II (if legit) clearly weren't...

Now the question is.. Where is the japanese release of this game? It has to exist based on these.
Good question.. this would be the only Neo-Geo AES game to have a US/Euro version but not a japanese one... :spock:

I think I'm glad that I'm much less a collector rather than a gamer/impulsive buyer cause it has saved me from the massively valued AES collections that are around and pop up. Glad to hear that people are able to get their fix though and that we've got the most reliable purveyor of games drugs in TonK ;)

tonk, can you hook me up with some quality shots of the pcbs, soldering looks well made but too tarnished while there is no tarnish at all at some places.

I thought of that also, but it would be a good case that a japanese cart doesn't exist, as japanese carts are very plentiful, and more plentiful for even the 'rarer' releases then some would want to admit. In this amount of time, we would have seen at least one. The fact this game popped up in US region FIRST, when SNK wasn't known to ever do that is mysterious.

I don't wanna queer anyone's sales, or harm anything, but this has to be questioned.. I think a good example of a highly over valued game is waku waku 7. While Metal Slug is truly rare for each region.

If not, this would be the only home cart to exist that didn't contain a japanese counter part, and from what I figured, I thought all of these games were japanese at first. A japanese version must exist.

This goes to my belief that we're looking at a mock-up/sample copy, a fake, or somewhere in between.

I don't think there is any question that this game, assuming it was made by SNK, was never released, and that list only includes officially released games.

That said, Super Volley '94 is listed as a 1994 *Taito* release. (?)

I only quickly scanned the "official" SNK Playmore release list, and immediately noticed that Eightman was only released as a home cartridge.

I'll give y'all first crack at my extremely rare and unreleased Eightman MVS cart - $50,000 shipped!

I also love how SNKP uses "NEOGEO ROM-cart" instead of AES :)

If these are coming from some EX SNK employee who has a warehouse full of bizarre pre-release items mixed in, it'd give more clearance, and maybe its time to have this source step forward and identify themselves. This game is obviously going for probably over 3000$ at least, and a back up story is needed for that kind of cash. It doesn't make sense to me that this guy is just not up to coming out in public because of potential harassment.

Seriously, why wouldn't he try and get top dollar for this type of stuff, or at least put in some kind of effort. I am familiar with the Okinawa style SNK stubbornness, but this person is clearly an american if that's the case, and it just doesn't make sense. We are in 2012, these games aren't cutting edge or amazing new releases, so spill the god damn beans already on who this person is, or tell them to come out and be openly honest.

I'd be more inclined to think it's a mock-up/sample than anything. Who would, in their right mind, fake THAT game?

It wouldn't surprise me if they produced a bunch of copies, realized how shitty it is and how it wouldn't sell and then scrapped it.

It just doesn't make sense any other way.

Back then nobody, but today, considering the sky-high Neo-Geo market, it's definitely worth the hassle :annoyed:

Ehhhh.. I can understand faking AF3 as it's a semi-decent game... PS may be the WORST release on the system.

Also, why would you bother doing both Dog Tag and Euro?

On top of that, with everything else this source has supplied, I'd say they've earned at least the benefit of the doubt.

You're right from a gamer's point of view: PSII is pure shit

But, from a collector's point of view, PSII English AES (if proven legit) is just another game to have, doesn't matter if good or not

Anyway i'm not saying these are fakes.. i actually don't know...

Just trying to analyze this find just like everybody else

Oh, I agree... which is what I was musing about.

Honestly, this source is damn reliable.. if they say it's legit, I'd be inclined to accept it as such.

So this would have been the first Dog Tag released to have the the smaller manual and without the dog? next being Sam Sho 2 and then thats it. makes sense why sam sho 2 manual is different from other dog tag versions?

I think it would be more important to see if this has an NGH number associated with it and there's an appropriate gap for it.

(I don't have the list handy)

hi Tonk, is the rom different from "normal" mvs?

I mean is unibios returning same ngh/values for it?

Thanks,

Massi

ROM is not different.

Personally, I believe it's a test run/proto than anything.

As soon as I saw it I knew it was real.

Nice high-culture reference to Our Lady of Lourdes. She certainly believed it. Which only calls for one answer.
