I've taken the time to deliberately seek out this guys writing and have come to the conclusion that he is mildly amusing in an early 90s terrible writing kind of way. But writing about retro games doesn't necessarily mean we need the writing itself to be retro. I mean I was a child when I found this style of writing amusing.

Perhaps this guy just needs to have 1337 tattooed on his forehead so the world can know just what sort of guy he is and treat him accordingly.

Slightly on topic.... while everyone is of course entitled to their own opinions on the Metal Slug franchise as a whole, a particular port, title within the series or whatever, I still question the mental stability of anyone who rates Metal Slug 4 as a superior title, on any level, to Metal Slug 3.
Sure MS3 will have its critics, and many will not see it as the best overall entry in the series, but even if a person has only played 3 & 4, I still find it completely preposterous that someone would rate MS4 as the superior of the two games.

To pigeon hole MS4 as a steaming bag of shit would not really be displaying a constructive, mature, opinon. Nevertheless, side lining and ring fencing MS4 as the single most horrifically disfigured, festering puss filled, wank stained, shit smeared, torn arsehole of the Metal Slug series would certainly be putting it into the appropriate context.

It is difficult to make a magazine cheaper to publish without increasing the amount of issues you print. If they can increase sales, the price may well go down, but for now, they are probably only selling enough at that price to make a meager profit. Not unlike the Neo Geo, costs are higher mainly due to production being lower.
