Sammy Vs. Capcom information?

I know it was canceled but why? I was really looking forward to that game when it was announced.

I did a search on Google but I did not find nothing usefull or of interest, anyone know more about this game, does anybody have pics?

Capcom has a history of not releasing near- to completely finished games. I'm not sure if it's artistic perfectionism (they don't want their name on a mediocre game), or purely financial (they don't want to lose money on a mediocre game). I'm guessing a bit of both.

DEAD PHOENIX (Gamecube)
This game looks like a 3rd person Legendary Wings action adventure game. I'm very disappointed it never got released - from the screenshots alone it looks far more interesting than P.N.03.

WAR OF THE GRAIL (Arcade)
It hasn't been officially cancelled yet, but this game was announced (with screenshots) well over a year ago and nothing more surfaced since then. I've got a Capcom Famitsu magazine with a meager one page spread on it - it's an arcade, fantasy-themed Dynasty Warriors type game. (The Wikipedia article is wrong, it's not a fighting game). The game uses cards that you buy separately to manage your items, they seem similar to the cards that Virtua Fighter and Tekken use.

The sprites won't match with the background no matter what. Also, the morrigan sprite is gross. Why put that awful morrigan and do, say, CVS King that looks gorgeous

The CVS2 Blanka sprite didn't stick out in Alpha 3 where the resolution was uniform.

Not EVERY sprite.

It's been a long time since I've played it but I recall quite a few of the sprites looking ugly, regardless of the backgrounds. They were very rough around the edges.

I know Morrigan's sprite looks horribly out of place compared to other sprites.

The Alpha sprites fare a little better.

All because the background was in 2D.

MvC 2 and CvS 2 both suck because their sprites were rehash shit with shitty background music and shitty backgrounds in general.

And please don't get me started with Capcom Fighting Jam (or whatever it's fucked called I just don't give a shit because it's MUGEN).

And SNK Playmore is not that great either. Rehash city in many of their later fighters.

If they were worried about that then Capcom Fighting Evolution would never have seen the light of day.

Sammy vs. Capcom was a dumb idea, 2 totally different feeling spectrum of fighters. But Sammy vs. SNK would have made sense, but would most likely would have included ROTD, MOTW, KOF, SS, Matrimelee and Last Blade characters.
