In case you haven't heard, the fashion company Benetton recently made an advertising campaign featuring (doctored) images of world leaders of opposing views kissing one another. Within a short period, the company was forced to withdraw the advertisements because of protests from The Vatican about one image involving the Pope.

Benetton got what they wanted with this provoking campaign: publicity. There is no "bad publicity", as long as you are the talk of the town the ad campaign worked.

Understatement, considering we're talking about a company that's not only used death row inmates as models, but did an ad campaign featuring pictures of a dying AIDS patient. I don't even know what they even fucking sell, but the fact I'm aware of those campaigns say a lot.

Yeah, first thing that popped (or should I say poped) into my mind.

Simon (FTL) must have imploded with disapproving rage when he saw the picture.
