I think we're finally at the point where people just don't care how good the graphics are on the new systems. We're tired of having upgraded graphics with shitty game play.
If they mass produced the games, they could probably make some profit that way. I can't imagine anyone at SNK is getting rich right now, so it might not be a bad marketing idea. The hardest part is that to make a 100$ machine you have to produce many, many, many of them. That means you'll have to finance those fist machines and games.
I wonder if anyone is making any money from Rage of the Dragons at it's sub-50$ price? That might give us a hint as to how cheap these games could be if they were made in bulk. Only Shawn knows what it cost him to buy those carts.
