It does when you are so intent on denying another group of people the privileges you are afforded. You want to practice your religion on other people. So me wanting to practice my religion makes me a bigot?
It has been proven that gay adult couple have a breakup rate of about 70% after two years.
For instance, a study published in Demography found markedly higher breakup rates among same-sex couples–50% higher for gay couples and 167% higher for lesbian couples. And a UCLA study released last month on American couples comes up with similar findings for gay and lesbian couples here in the United States.

Oh, the male same-sex marriage divorce rate in Canada is 6% within the first year. What's the hetero-marriage divorce rate in America in the first year ? Over 30%.
Why don't we?
Why is the Government involved in the partnerships of consenting adults in the first place?
So you registered just to post in this thread?-various garbage that no one will read-
The majority of Americans don't want this gay marriage crap hence the reason the other 46 states don't want any part of it.

Looking at the divorce rate amongst hetero-sexual couples, it appears straight America doesn't really want part of marriage either.
What does that even mean if none of those people are married to begin with? Isn't the divorce rate for heterosexual married couples something crazy like just short of 50% to begin with? And that's before counting all the heterosexual relationships that end before 2 years without ever being married. How many girls have you dated where the relationship lasted less than two years? So what is this 70% statistic supposed to mean?It has been proven that gay adult couple have a breakup rate of about 70% after two years.
There was a time in the not too distant past when the majority of Americans didn't want to extend rights to other minority groups, either. That's not a part of our American heritage I choose to celebrate. The majority of Americans don't want this gay marriage crap hence the reason the other 46 states don't want any part of it.
Do you live on a compound? Who tells you these things?except here, once you stop giving tax benefits to married people, all of a sudden the atheists and homosexuals do not want to get married anymore!
Riddle me this SouthTownKid, if there are no monetary benefits and marriage is just a religious institution, then why does an atheist (who has no religion, unless you consider atheism a religion) or a homosexual (whose beliefs do not align with a religion, so most likely is not a part of a religion) want to be married?
Because they love each other? Because it signifies entering into a committed, monogamous relationship they plan to last the remainder of their lives? That's why I got married. Neither money nor religion entered into the decision in the slightest.Riddle me this SouthTownKid, if there are no monetary benefits and marriage is just a religious institution, then why does an atheist (who has no religion, unless you consider atheism a religion) or a homosexual (whose beliefs do not align with a religion, so most likely is not a part of a religion) want to be married?
I lost hope of getting a "thought out" answer long ago...You're an idiot and your questions don't even deserve a thought out answer.
Time is the friend to equality.

This may be a newsflash for you, but the institution of marriage predates recorded history. It wasn't invented by Christians, or even Jews.
I'm sorry this is such a riddle for you.
Time is the friend to equality.
The US in particular has a uniquely strong bond with it.
No. I'm just pointing out that the institution predates the religious trappings you're so eager to hang on it.Interesting, here YOU define marriage based on what, historical data?
Thank you for sharing that doubtless scientifically accurate statistic you just pulled out of your ass. "Plenty" of people. Considering the rate of splitting up between people who actually ARE married, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you are full of shit for suggesting that people who don't get married might somehow be as -- or more -- successful in staying together for life.I am unsure of why you need to be "married" to be in a commited monogamous relationship for the remainder of your life... Plenty of people have done so without a "marriage."
