Man, $30... I sold two nearly new 1500 series copies of Strikers II for $12 each over the last two months. $30 is nuts, the title can be found from used sellers on Amazon Japan or elsewhere for like 1000 JPY. $30 should get you a gold-plated jewel case too.

Anyone has a link to Kiken's Strikers 1945 Plus 1cc Vid?

Actually, my 1CC is from Strikers 1945 Part 2.

http://www.sirkain.net/~kiken/Practice/kikens1945ii1loop1bomb.avi

The video is captured from the US PSX release and I'm playing using Original Mode 1. I also own the Japanese Saturn release, so yes, I can play the game in Tate... it's just a pain to constantly rotate my TV.

The video that I posted from Strikers 1945 Plus was a tandem play demonstration:

BTW
I received my Progear board yesterday. I'm loving every second of it. After playing it for about an hour I got a score in the 3 million range.

@ Spike
Give me a week or so and I'll start posting my scores over at shmups.com

well I hope you guys are satisfied, I'm buying a crappy 19' TV for tate use, so that copy of Strikers won't be played in the 'non traditional' way

still, that won't happen for a little while, as my adventures in acquiring a JPN PS2 are going to take a bit longer than anticipated

Please no, dont buy a crappy one, get one that is good and has component video, 20-27". When I have someone around to help I tate a HDTV which is just sex with my neobits supergun.

Every little bit helps when playing a shooter that floods the screen with shots.

And pick up ESPgaluda while you're at it.

I would, but I have so many things on the way that I'd hate to overwhelm myself. I'm going to play the ones I'm getting first and then seek out ESPgaluda

they go from dirt cheap to obscenely expensive

I'll do some pawn shop shopping sometime and look for it

you'd be amazed at some of the shit I've seen in those places over the years

high quality home sound systems i.e. Yamaha, Denon, etc. for really fucking cheap

Besides, I just can't see myself flipping an expensive HDTV on it's side . . . unless I had money to burn

Woah... "who are you stealing from"... that's interesting, Daioh came out 3 years before Shienryu... perhaps the Athena dev team joined Warashi, I've never heard of those Athena guys before to be honest.

I've found this (not very good) shot on gameoverdude:

daioh.jpg

heh

and this is the info they have there:

"Daioh is one of the first shooters to use 6 buttons (it's modified slightly from the original Japanese version which uses just 2). It bears a strong resemblance to 1996's Shienryu (recently released here on PlayStation as Geki-Oh)."

Six buttons?
