Hell yes! Finally! :buttrock::buttrock::buttrock:

The Fallen Angels complete edition announced for console, arcade:

Zerodiv is working on a “complete version” of the 1998-released, Psikyo-developed arcade fighting The Fallen Angels. It will be released first for arcades, then later ported to console.

The news was announced at the 10th anniversary event for Takadanobaba Game Center Mikado, which featured City Connection president Nobuhiro Yoshikawa and Zerodiv president Takayuki Harakami as guests.

According to Wikipedia and Unseen64, it is generally believed that the original release of The Fallen Angels was unfinished, with four unplayable character sprites discovered in the game’s ROM and several other indications of rushed development.

The complete version will include the four unfinished characters, as well as all sorts of adjustments.

That’s cool. I mean, whatever I bought that game 20 years too early and got out gaming already. Fuck it.

Sup EW! I gotcha. It has indeed been a long time, but the same could be said for a Garou sequel if that ever comes out one day.

The release of Daraku Tenshi is cool all on it’s own, but I’m completely shocked that they intend to include the 4 previously unfinished characters. That’s something that even we who’ve been playing this game for 20 years can look forward too as opposed to just another retro rom re-release imho.

I’m hoping it’s not just a mugen effort.

Agreed. In addition to restoring the removed story cutscenes, I’m assuming the new characters (not including the two bosses: Carlos and Trigger) will just be completed versions of the fighters seen in the bitmap dumps:

Additional credits to Torentsu and all those who provided are clearer look into the development of this title:

If you go to the wayback machine link, you can see the influences for each character’s design (playable from beta only). A lot of Gundam and Eva.

Rock on! Definitely curious if the Gundam and Eva influences were just nods back to the work of the character voice actors themselves.

Haiji Mibu’s voice actor was Domon from G Gundam and Touji from Eva
Cool was voiced by the actor who did Hiiro from Gundam Wing
Yuiren was voiced by Quatre’s actor from Gundam Wing
Onigawara voiced by Master Asia’s actor from G Gundam

Yeah that’s it. I was just scanning and not actively translating.

Used to own the board myself. Rumor has it that my former copy now occupies the office of Facebook, supposedly.

Curious how much (and where to buy?!) an updated pcb would be?

HOLY SHIT! I knew a guy online when I first got on the internet about 20 years ago who was in love with this game. Hopefully he's still alive.

Whoa! WTF.
This is totally out of left field. Why would they even bother?

I thank them for Maxima and look forward to playing as Matilda.

This is one game in dire need of an arranged soundtrack, hope they come thru with that.

Otherwise this is sort of a surprise, I didn't think there was much interest outside of fighting game enthusiasts, are there really that many people left that want to see this?

I promise not to blow my wad until this drops!

This was one of those grail PCBs I never got to pick up. I've been looking for the past year when I had extra money but no dice.

The closest I got to owning this was members of KLOV trying to buy my G-Taste PCB to convert... :keke:

Iknorite?

Closest I ever got was hitting up a Nickel City in a moving truck, as I was moving out of San Jose. For $200 I was going to buy a Fallen Angels dedicated (z back), sledge hammer the cab flat in the back of the mini mall, and high tail it outta there. Had 300wins lined up to scoop the monitor, chassis, and guts...

...but when I arrived, the Manager wasn’t there, and the clerk working the desk ‘wasn’t authorized to sell any cabinets.’

I had a schedule to keep, so I drove off into the sad sunset. ¿Wonder who ever got that cab?

Very cool, I can wait for the console release. I owned the PCB at one point but the novelty of it wore off in favor of helping to pay closing costs for my new place. If they actually "finish" the game I will be impressed.

Great news! Although I really wonder who's gonna be the target group for this quite unknown game? The average fighting game player has never heard of this and even the more enthusiastic ones might have missed this as it's quite rare and obscure. Anyways, glad it's announced for consoles too which probably includes the PS4. Hoping for a Masaki Izutani revival :D

It will sell. Since everything is limited and rare nowadays all the chucklefucks that preorder the LRG, NGDEV shit etc. will be all over it.

You guys think Toki was a hot commodity? Dumbfucks buying that garbage.

Like Jeff said if it's finished it will be awesome and I will buy.

I went there with dubdubdub and we scooped the PCB out of the cab a few November’s ago
