You should just start a pyramid scheme instead.

That would show a little more class.

i dont really care how much junkmail i get. if its junk it gets thrown in the trash. if its an offer for a credit card it gets burned. simple enough

In the late ninties I used to own a advertising company. (mostly I made junk mail)
I compiled list of information for companies, sometimes they paid allmost $4,000 for ten thousand names addrress ect. Like Norton said companies are mostly interested in a specific demographic, these list had to be very specific. I could also make a basic list and I sold those for just a couple hundered dollars or included them for free with a nice sized account. I often considered recycling a list/selling to a competitor (sometimes customer base) but in the end I always decided it was unethical and trashed any data I had left over.

Yea, his final summation pretty much mirrors my thoughts and feelings on this.

Even if it's not identity theft(it definitely isn't, IMHO), it's going to end up in a lot of people getting fucked around in some way, shape or form.

Junk mail is junk, but I get enough of it with personal details and info on it(credit card shit) that I feel very uncomfortable just throwing it out, versus burning or shredding it.

So, yea. It's a pain in the ass.
Don't be part of the problem, man! Be that one guy in a thousand that finally says "You know, I don't want to see a bunch of people get dicked around with telemarketing and junk mail."

Argh.

I'm a freelance IT networker so those "telemarketers" (i. e. spammers) are my sworn enemies. They waste my and my customers' time which leads to a gigantic loss of money every damn year due to investments for antispam systems and all the cost of labour that goes with it.

Standard direkt marketing may be legal in most countries but it SURE AS HELL is not legitimate, it clogs up the internet or peoples' real-life post boxes and forces admins like me to do endless unpaid overtime. And don't give me that "I don't care for spam, just delete it" crap, that's only half of the story, my networks have to transport all that shit and bandwidth isn't free so I have to pay lotsa money just to deliver enlarge-your-wang and Viagra bullshit to my customers who in turn get mad at me because "my servers send them spam".

So boyo, if you want to become a spammer, do as you please but NEVER post such questions in here again, because next time I may be in one of my moods and call out Gumby to do a bit of spammin' and marketin' with your account.
