This is good news.

Too bad they couldn't easter egg the Sega CD and PS1 versions.

I've even played through the MPEG JP Saturn version, no gameplay difference but the cutscene framerates are smoother.

Lunar: Silver Star Story, the classic GameArts RPG for MegaCD / Sega CD remade as Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete for the Sega Saturn, Sony PlayStation, Windows PC (in Japan) and Nintendo GBA, is being remade once again, this time for PSP, as Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star.

...yea, this might get some run on my PSP.

I scored a Genesis/32x/SegaCD off Craigslist for $10 a couple years ago. Lunar was the first CD-ROM I tried to download... sadly it's one of the notoriously impossible CD-Rs to get working in the original drive hardware. I never considered the console remakes worth dropping the coin, but portability does change things.

I could understand why it was necessary to remake Lunar SS once, since I personally thought the SCD version was pretty meh, but this 2nd remake is completely unnecessary...

Wasn't there a Lunar SS port to the DS too? They need to stop.

I like the style of the PSP remake, but something's off... It really just doesn't look like what Lunar is supposed to look like and some of the BGs seem to lack soul.

I'll play it just for the hell of it (no way I'll end up beating it), but I wish this engine/style would be used for something else like maybe a handheld Grandia provided they don't screw it up.

I'm not sure I'm wild about the style of the game, but I'm going to give it a chance.

Like I said, I didn't like the ps1 versions of Lunar. I thought the gba one was okay, but the battle engine was awful.

The DS game was garbage, it didn't deserve the Lunar name.

I'm going to support this release because I'd like to see a Lunar 3, or even a prequel where I get to play as Dyne.

Actually, I'd love a remake of Magical School. I picked it up on the Saturn and gave up a few hours in due to language barriers.

Even if this one sucks I'll still have my Sega CD originals so it's all good anyways.

The visuals aren't sitting right with me.

I'm a fairly rabid Lunar fan so I'll get it despite that.

Read my post before yours.

It's was remade for PlayStation and Saturn, and ported to Windows PC in Japan, and more recently, ported to GBA, not DS.

Lunar is one probably my fav game of all time. I will be buying this for sure. I don't mind the new art style, I think the sprites have a nice appeal. I am glad they are keeping the same animation style for the char 2d art though.

Looks wonderful, I adore Lunar, but this game as been remade way too many times. Why couldn't they have ever finally released Lunar 3? They must have been out of good ideas because we keep getting a retelling of the same story, and I'm not sure the DS one counts.
