Since PCE is a two part game, would it be effective if, assuming we clear part 1, we just add scores for part 2 and submit the sum?

Take the password it gives you at the end of stage 4 and put it in an emulator, another copy of the game, or burn a SuperHu and play it that way.

How do you guys get to the high scores when you die ( PCE version )?

It's getting on my nerves. You have to predict you're gonna lose on a certain spot to actually pause the game and grab a picture...

Finally managed to beat the first part again.
It was the only way I could snap the high score.

Got in a solid run, died toward the end of lvl 5 before I got to the boss. If I have a perfect run for me I can get through 5, but I've got a LOT to practice on 6

I managed to get my part-II HuCard working again.

I'll try to get a bit further.
However, I guess it shouldn't count as the codes, are almost like a save state.
If you die, you just put the code and restart fully powered up :/

OK, no picture this time. I died ( stupidly ) on the 5th boss. It was my last life.

294700pts. I'll try to get better. It's frustrating to swap HuCards over and over again. How I wish I could have a US copy with having to butcher my SGFx...

Welcome to the light berry. I tried to play this at the barcade earlier this week but their machine glitched out after I died the first time.

Managed to keep the extra weapons for some time and it is a whole different game with that

Damn speed ups ... screwed me all over.

Definitely avoid speedups like the plague. I take the first one and then avoid the rest.

Berry, I find sticking with the blue weapon and always keeping the force pod attached is the best way to survive when you're first playing. The yellow weapon can help on the ship in stage 3 as well until you practice it a bit more.

Two speed ups are best, allows more movement in stage 4 and up.

Well... that was depressing. I have such a hard time recovering when I die (most often bumping into a wall or enemy) and don't have the extras any more (made it to lvl 3 again)

Another try today... reached lvl 3 on the first life, then lost all to the big ship that parked its ass on my ship. It seems I cannot deal with the bullets coming at me but next time I might consider what most ppl said here - don't pick up a 3rd speed boost (makes the ship a hell to steer)

I wouldn't advise getting the second one until stage 4 though. Personally I still avoid it but again my best runs end on stage 6
