!Arcade! may not be that much different than NGF on paper, but !Arcade! is at least a somewhat professional-seeming business.

The converter alone seems worthy of earning them our respect.

I wouldn't spend even $200 on that Strikers cart, but I don't begrudge anyone who buys it.

Am I the only one who cannot separate Chris and Dion's megalomaniacal, fucked in the ass BAD ADDITUDE, and lack of business aplomb from it's business and products?

A business can do whatever it wants - just treat your customers, and POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS with a shred of fucking decency, OK?

Actually Dion has been registering some of the members nick names from here that bash ngf.

I've got the MVS version, mint in box with all materials. I see no need for owning an unofficial home version, not for the asking price anyway. The !arcade! home cart is strickly for the collector, not for the game player IMO.

Where were some of you people when Strikers 1st came out and Mr Di-yawn Fakeazz's and Chris R[G]ay's inital asking price for a POS conversion job of this game for $1400.00!!!!!

I had wanted this game on home cart to begin with on release and I was NOT going to pay the ambigiuos due $1400.00 just to get a DOA cart like Shawn did. Those pics are probably still here but everyone who saw the pics Jeff posted of Chris's conversion job totally agreed it was shit.

!Arcade! is bringing out the same home cart at a fraction of the cost on a custom board with a full color manual, foil stamping and some people are still griping about it? <IMG SRC="smilies/makeface.gif" border="0">

When the 1st run of Slug 3 AES came out, The cart cost a lot more due to it being only a Japanese release because SNK of America was closed down. Even with the higher cost, People still coughed up the bucks for it. I know this game isn't a official SNK release but, At least it's something just as close. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I pre-ordered one myself and to be honest I sincerely hope to get my hands on this game as well. It's understandable that a lot of people here are not happy about the $400.00 price tag for a custom game. But, It's better than $1400.00 or $1099.00 which sir 'd' wants for it now. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Doesn't think the price $399 are too much to talk about for this matter. if there's only 50 carts out it's a high cost per cart for R&D and printwork etc. SNK carts where massproduced.

Let's also keep in mind that Arcade is producing their own pcb boards to house the chips. This goes well beyond the normal "conversion" process that we know and hate from NGF. The added expense of developing and producing these boards I'm sure was not cheap. I will admit that I was quite negative towards !arcade! when we didn't have all the information pertaining to how they were going to produce this cart, but now I am excited by the prospect of future QUALITY releases from them.

The only thing I still do not understand is the need to produce the AES2 if they are already satisfying the home collector market with both the converter and produced AES carts.

I still stand by what I said when strikers was announced,
The game is pure piracy, snk will not recive any money from game sales neither will the game makers.It's not piarcy I have a major problem with it's over priced piracy $400 for a fake game (are they havin a laugh).
The whole idea of piracy & fake goods is to get things cheaper than they would be in the shops, when was a neo geo game (£280)$400 ? never.
I think im right in remembering all new releases in the UK ws £180 - £200.

Actually, unless they alter the software code itself or start burning their own roms, I doubt that this can be considered piracy anymore than the converter cart can be considered piracy. They are merely modifying an MVS cartridges roms to run through an AES system.

I agree that SNK or Psyiko or whomever owns the Strikers liscense is probably owed money in conjunction with using the images and name, but who can say that SNK even cares at this point? I seriously doubt that they are unaware of the situation.

I would not be suprised if "arcade" make above the 50 to have some for sale a few months down the line either to sell at $400 or grab the high prize if demand is there.

Well they are going to be numbered, so unless Arcade is REALLY stupid and tries to produce multiples of the same number than I doubt this will happen. If they do produce more carts than the initial 50, then their reputation will be damaged and this whole thread will be moot.

How can you say that gamers are those people who have no money and collectors are those that have money? I'm a gamer and I actually like Strikers as a game. I got rid of my cabinet due to financial reasons several months ago but my situation has changed. Now, instead of searching for another good clean cab, I have decided to just purchase conversions where possible and get a converter/AES2 for the rest.

Just because a person is willing to pay $400 for a high quality game that they like, please don't assume that they are just a collector.
