It’s really cool that you run this from your house. There’s a lot of cool games and cabs there, something for everyone…
Looking good. Do you have NBA JAM TE? There’s a cool rewind patch of it where it adds Shaq to team up with Penny, has Barkley and other guys unlocked and adds Michael Jordan to the game as well as some other stuff. I just finished a 4 player cabinet that’s a multi, and i did the hack in MAME and it’s probably the most popular game in my house now.
The pandoras really are this weird microcosm of awesome and janky. I dont dislike that they exist one bit. Theyre all over the place but some of the things they do well are surprising and also surprising how well they actually do them!
This takes me back going to the arcades in the 80's and 90's with song playing in the background. The arcade is open the first Wednesday of every month. Tonight we had 18. Here are a few of the best moments…
I didn’t realize how close I was to you. I’m up in Kelowna. I gotta get my daughter her passport then I hope it’s cool if we head down on one of your open nightsI spent the day getting The Game Room ready for Wednesday. We decided to go Kawaii for the candies this month.
The Blast City will be running Mamorukun Curse (Xbox 360) since I just got the sweet Psychic Drive Brook UFB to JAMMA adapter PCB!
The Impress will run the cutest arcade game setup I have…Puzzle Uo Poko with custom art from Spectre and repro cat paws from Lions3. I can’t wait for people to try it out!
My daughter tells me kids are asking for Tetris so I put VS Tetris into the Red Tent. VS Tetris is the Tengen version from the NES.
I found someone who makes a cheap control panel and marquee for a Golden Tee/Silver Strike Bowling cab to turn it from a trackball to 2 player 6 buttons so you can put a Pandora Box in it. I was given a Pandora Box so eventually that will be put in, but first I plan to install my RingEdge 2 multi to get use out of the HD monitor. I am looking forward to doing the project…

That sounds like an amazing initiative! Your dedication to providing a free arcade experience for your community is truly commendable. By opening your arcade once a month, you're creating an opportunity for people in your small, economically challenged mountain town to come together and enjoy the thrill of arcade games without any financial burden. The fact that you rotate and introduce new games each month ensures that there's always something fresh and exciting for attendees to look forward to. It's wonderful to hear that despite the challenges of maintaining and repairing the games, your passion for creating this fun-filled space remains strong. Not only are you fostering a sense of community and providing entertainment, but you're also making a positive impact by offering free drinks and snacks to enhance the overall experience. Your commitment to the free arcade shows how passion and a desire to bring joy to others can transcend financial limitations. Keep up the great work, and may your monthly arcade continue to bring happiness and excitement to all who attend.I live in a tiny, very poor mountain town. I would love to open an arcade, but I realized I really just wanted people to play my games. Instead, I made a free arcade. I open my arcade one day a month for 2 hours and anyone can come and enjoy free arcade games, free drinks, and free snacks. My county spans hundreds of miles and has a population under 2,000. The Game Room averages 30+ attendees each month. I have a few Jamma cabs mixed in with my classic and dedicated games so those (as well as the TVs for console games) get changed out every month so there are always new games to enjoy. It’s been a lot of fun. Games break and it costs a lot, but it’s my passion and it’s been a ton of fun!
