I couldn't find one, anyway.

I've been enjoying the show this season, but I still think AMC is beyond fucked up: you can show a blowjob pretty graphically, but a naked breast is taboo?

What the fuck.

Looking forward to finding out the scene you're talking about. Particularly when I'm on a plane with a stranger looking over my shoulder.

I've tried to watch this show numerous times. It's just so slow and boring. I've made it through 3 episodes, I think. Does it get better?

Going to try and start this show soon. But going by word of mouth, I'm going to place my expectations really low.

Watched the first five episodes.

No thanks. Not for me at all. Great actors doing great work in a show and story I couldn't care less about.

Watched several season awhile back on Netflix.

I like it except for Draper's secret. It's lame, not really all that interesting, and I wish it was resolved.

This is probably my favorite show on television, and I'm really glad it's back after the long hiatus. I find the insight into 50's/60's big business and culture vrey intersting, and the characters flesh it out well.

Thanks for whipping up this thread Ninny, I didn't think there was any interest here.

This season has really been gearing up in the quality department the past couple episodes. However, it's a weird show in that I can watch one episode and finish it thinking "Daaaaamn that was great" and still have no real anticipation for next week, like I do with Breaking Bad.

I keep hearing it's awesome while I also hear the only reason to watch is just to see Christina Hendricks as and I quote, "That's one fine ass bitch"

I am annoyed that both Breaking Bad & Walking Dead have been hurt by this show hogging all the money from AMC, hell it's because of this Breaking Bad is ending

Yes, but I doubt you'd care if you were that bored. Sounds to me like this show isn't your thing. It's not that great... So don't worry about it.

Don's secret was pretty ridiculous. I think they were going for a whole 'The 50s were a time of deeds, not lineage' thing but they failed miserably.

On the plus side it totally was resolved. Don's bosses find out about it, and... they didn't give a shit. The end, case closed.

Brilliant show, when I grow up I want to be a slightly dirty, yet savvy man like Don Draper.

I bought the first season on DVD to get into it, and I basically had to watch the whole thing before I was really invested. For me, I really have to just relax and take it all in when watching this show. I find it rewarding, because I find myself reflecting and discussing this show more often than I do with most. There is a lot going on.

I had the same train of thought through the first season. I've stuck with it and enjoyed the acting tremendously, however it's definitely a show that would be hard to rewatch because I am not vested in the time period and have difficulty relating to the characters in the same way as ones from other modern dramas.

I have to say to anyone on the fence, starting with Season 3 the story really takes off and becomes a lot more engaging and morally challenging. Unlike a lot of other modern frontrunners, what this show is missing is violent action as a means of upheaval, forcing the characters to rely on relationship drama and work competition as their conflict. It's a completely different way of generating dramatic action than other similarly praised modern dramas.

As others have said it's a slow burn, but I've really enjoyed it so far. Don't have cable so had to watch the show via Netflix.

It comes up again in future seasons...multiple times.

You know what, I forgot all about the whole thing that made his wife mad.

At the very least I can claim that all that was a symptom of a greater disease, but point taken.

(Still a really stupid plot point, though, and a clear weak spot in the show as a whole.)

Agreed.

Spoiler:

Also remember there was the thing with the government background check in season 4 (i think it was season 4) when they were trying to get that new client.

Oh yeah... Well, that was a fairly minor detail at least.

Maybe, but it also may be foreshadowing a breaking point with Pete where he ends up doing something drastic because of all the shit he's gone through at the expense of Don's "secret" over the seasons.

I saw that as more than a minor detail in the grand scheme of things.

Off topic: Pete is my favorite character on the show by far. Dude cracks me up.
