I got my BS in computer science and have been doing software development for the past 10 years. I hate it. I should have gone the musician route while I still had the chance.

i love my job

great people, benefits, the potential for pay is solid (what i make now gets me by), and i get a good discount at my favorite store

just started my new position a couple of weeks ago and i'm hoping to move up again in the next year

Currently a 'just' unemployed Graphic Designer. Was working for a large company as a contractor with the hope of being offered a permanent position, but a few months in, it was pretty apparent there was nowhere to go as, realistically, there was no room for expansion. 2 years was up Friday before last. I'm no doubt the first of many who will be cut down prior to permanent staff losses. Shame.

Pointless fucking career with no future, at least here. Might have to change things up (down?) in exchange for steady employment/income. Intermittent redundancy is boring and embarrassing now.
