Sup Taiso, “旋風拳” from the anime and “旋風剛拳” (Tung Fu’s signature attack) from the games are different attacks (a distinction made in the japanese guide). The translation of “拳” (kobushi), doesn’t always just mean “fist” in a literal sense, but also means attack/style of attack in translation (ie. attack/fighting style that uses or produces a whirlwind [旋風]).

I was just shocked to see it at all in the game, since the plot and characters of Masami Obari’s anime and the other manga releases were always considered outside the canon of the actual games themselves lol Figured it was just a cool nod (similar to the joke/reference to the anime in KOFXIII).
Terry does Tatsumaki Sempukyako in the Fatal Fury 2 (I'm fairly certain he calls it out just like that in both the sub and the dub) anime, transitioning into a Power Geyser at the end in the CotW clip.

That looks like what he's doing in the CotW clip. A Tatsumaki Sempyukyaku into a Power Geyser.

It looks like CotW is paying tribute to the Fatal Fury 2 anime here. So why would they call the first half of that move something other than what's in the anime?

I already acknowledged in a previous post that Terry states something different when he performs the move against Krauser in the second anime. I’m just sharing with you what the move is actually labeled as from the japanese source since you appeared to ask why I called it “senpuuken” in my original post. Nothing more, nothing less my friend.

Either way, the move is a really cool nod to the anime and a cool easter egg for those in the know (Capcom did something similar for a move Cammy used in an anime as well).

Raiden/Big Bear return would be cool.
I don't think it happens when Tizoc is there.
I'd like to see Bash come back, or maybe JUINORRRRR is all grown up now and stepping out for the first time.

The one that worries me is Eiji. I mean cool character and everything, but he belongs to the AoF generation. If they're keeping the original timeline, he'd be 50 years old minimum. I don't want them to make everyone contemporaries like in KoF.

If he does, if he's of the appropriate age, I wouldn't be mad at it.

What I miss a lot, which made FF so great to me was the changing stage conditions from round to round.
That was genius, should never have been discarded.

Also the NPCs since fighting games went 3d, are really pathetic. across the board. No exceptions. That's neither here nor there though. But still

Yeah, that bugs me, too, actually. Even if their cycles are really simple (as they've always been), if they just used motion capture to make their movement more naturalistic, it would help the overall atmosphere tremendously.

Looks nice. But the shader needs some adjustment.
Close shot does look a bit odd. As if her face had wrinkles.FFCOTW_08-13-2024_01.jpg

I've been curious about any limited or special editions that could be in the works.

Or does he mean he's ONLY buying the shit from the game and leaving the rest at the store?
