Exactly
The ps5 and Xbox architecture aren't "just pcs" because they happen to be X64.

If anything the switch was the lazy hardware design, that showed by it getting busted open so quickly, it was old when they decided to use it

What arcade machine was Dreamcast in a very small box? The DC came out before the Naomi. It just had good ports.

Yeah, old 3D graphics just look dated.
2D graphics keep looking good, even if the technology is superseded.

Outrun 2. Pure eye candy at almost 20 yrs old.
PowerStone still looks incredible. SCUD Race, too. I could go on. Hella old 3d games
with decent color palette and fine art direction look wonderful.

You look dated, I recon.

Every time I see a middle aged man holding his sippy cup kids iPad I can't help but think their wife's boyfriend bought it for them. Imagine your main hobby being hoovering up rehashed retro shite on "physical" to play on a kids android tablet

I was just talking in general.
And didn't like the way 3D games just pushed aside 2D games, back in '93-'95. As soon as 3D games came out (even fighters, for which 2D was obviously better), the videogame magazines portrayed 2D games as being obsolete.

Neo Geo games hit a wall in 2000. Not much progress after that. KOF 2003 is the only one that shows perhaps any kind of graphical progress after that.
Yeah but something happened around 2000. If SNK hadn't gone bankrupt and kept going with their full development force, who knows what would have happened. I mean they didn't hit a wall in 2000, they quite noticeably regressed.

not sure about technically speaking but the switch is just the Wii U with good marketing, and a proper name. The Wii U was a bit ahead of its time with the handheld thing so it was more a gimmick for playing games on the shitter. The core switch library is just the Wii U's

Yeah, some games from the Wii U library were re-released, but nah. The similarities end there.

I think the Wii U just suffered from horrible horrible marketing with the name and Nintendo confused parents so they didnt buy it. The way it was marketed made it seem like a tablet of sorts for the Wii. But overall they both had a portable aspect but the Wii u was tethered to the console so the idea was to be able to play it while other people used the Tv so it was very limited. The switch took most of the core games, added full portability and properly marketed the system. Still astounds me the difference in success between two relatively similar consoles

There was nothing wrong with the Wii U imo. I certainly used it a lot more than I have my Switch and continue to do so but I know I'm in the minority there.
