Sound like Neo geo Freak Actually...

But as long as you dont start calling everyone names and saying your a "Big Tymer" I think youll be alright.

As far as Neatness goes... might be a good idea... as long as they are damaged before hand... don't try to "improve" on SNK like NGF.

There was a similar topic awhile back..

Like I said back then..
The games belong to you....You do what you want with them, whatever makes you happy..
I myself don't like the colored labels,I will only replace labels with labels that are as close to original as I can get.

I've replaced labels on a few bad labeled MVS carts because I just couldn't stand looking at them anymore on the shelf.:(

Since your just going to slot them in their 1 of possible 6 slots inside the MVS unit, just get a blank VHS label, cut off the sides where it say "VHS" or the brand name... then match it over the part that is messed up so that the MVS logo and NEO:GEO logo appear on both sides of the LABEL. *Having written by hand in dark bold Marker or with some sort of label maker, you have a new label. It's a bit "Cowboy" and low tech, but it gets the job done fairly well. I did this with my Breaker's Revenge MVS Cart, and I'm happy. Though I'm sure there's probably more asthetically pleasing "alternatives" as well.

...just my two cents {Clink.}

First thing: they are your carts, no one elses.

if you are the type of person that buys an item only to sell it soon after then DONT take it off.

If you do replace them a good idea is to just print out a duplicate but put a sigle genre sripe at either side of the label (like a red one for a fighter) . That way it coesnt look like one of those himebrew labells with the euro color scheme, it will resemble the original label more but the genre stripe will let people know that it is a replacement if you ever sell it.

i've made some replacement labels for some of my games. they were all ones that i bought from mdgamesales, where the labels were really jacked. i think my labels are pretty close to the real thing, minus the serial numbers. i even put a strip of tape on them before i cut them to give them that gloss. i'll put a pic up when i have the time.

I replaced the labels on some of My NGM's . Mostly the ones that were Damaged or where in Japanese so I knew what games they were. What I did was just Scan in a NAM 1975 label in and just modify it with PhotoSHop. Trey also made a template to use as well here http://www.nickthfury.com/insert/template.htm

since I usally did several NGM's at once I would do about 6 lables on a sticker paper (basically it is like a label sheet that is not precut for labels) then I would cut them out over sized and Place on the cart . trace arouond the edges with my fingernail then use a Razor blade to cut around the inside.

I found alchol is the best to clean the old label of. I would scratch it off with a flat head screwdriver then cleaned what was left with Alchol.

As far as what you do with your own stuff it is up to you.

to remove stickers use goo gone from wallmart. get the one in the gray spray bottle. that stuff is great and wont discolor the cart. i have even used it to take stickers of glossy sega cd manuals (very carefully) and have had no problems.

Anyone know if the PCB MVS game labels are exactly like the cart lables? I have an SVC chaos that has a ruined label. I was gonna hit up some online printery like Szabos but I dont want to order if they are gonna wildly different.

Looks the same to me. I don't know why SNKP would print a different one that looks like it belongs on a cart.

This is going to be a repro for you anyway, so why is accuracy that important? Worried about the size?

For situations like this, it would be great if someone with the appropriate skillset/resources created a non-stick label overlay that sticks on top of a damaged label. Maybe a vinyl that "sticks" via static cling or some other easy to remove, no damage adhesive. Best of both worlds for collectors.
