("Norm Macdonald's Comedy was Quite Christian" by Matthew Walther, published yesterday by the New York Times.)

For those less familiar to Norm's sense of humor, he was joking. Five years prior to that, he said something similar on Tom Green's show. Talking about how people were giving him shit online for wishing OJ well and sending prayers when OJ announced he had brain cancer. Norm lamented compassion being a lost virtue.
Tom Green said, it was probably because it was surprising to Norm's fans after the years of him relentlessly going after OJ on SNL. Then Norm said, "Well, yeah, that was because I was against him for committing double murder! But I'm not against him for having brain cancer."
"Maybe I was the greatest rusher -- to judgement" should be read in the exact same voice and tone as when he said while roasting Bob Saget, "You have a head like a flower -- a cauliflower." This is not to take away from Norm's religious faith, which is genuine, but when he gave the OJ quote from the interview mentioned above, he was trolling. And if he were able to read that NYT article and see that it wooooshed over the writer's head, that would have given him immense pleasure.
