Nintendo is fighting for second place. I'm honestly not sure they can do it. Console gamers are different from handheld gamers. I mean what is Nintendo going to do? Rehash Nintendogs on the Revolution or something?...

Launch days have historically been a question of demand > supply.

About 15% of all hardware inventory goes on eBay for $600+ anyways!

Since the machine is backwards compatible, you could get up to $100 back from your old PS2 or even sell your old PS1 for another $30.



I think you will find sales of the 360 have slowed down considerably since Christmas.. I just don't think the market is there for a $400+ console... And lets face it, a $900 console that has very similar specifications (or higher specifications that make the games look exactly the same) is not going to fly very well with the public.

Hell, even if the PS3 launches at $400 and the games look the same, people will have 2 choices then, or 3 if the Nrev is out as well. Then you have to decide if 360 and Nrev is a better deal than just a PS3 at $900, since you can buy the other 2 for the same price.

the ps3 won't be a choice since i'll be spending my quarter of a thou on the revolution.
i don't have money to blow on the ultimate entertainment hub that the ps3 will
be trying to be, i just want to play entertaining games, innovation can't hurt
and i'm not online, so the 360 and ps3 aren't neccessarily in my vocabulary right now.

crap. Cause it ain't next gen, just upped graphics but
still dependent on a phsyical controller... no VR Immersion
like a Holo-Dec set up... that's Next Gen. By the time
I get a PS3 it'll be year 2 of the systems life and all the gayness
of launch day fucktards will have passed as well as the ridiculous
prices. This time around though, with as skeptical as I've been
towards Nintendo... The Revolution might be my system of
choice. I'm having too much fun with simpler and easier games
right now anyhow. If Nintendo truly is going in that direction and
can pull it off... they'll get my money. But they need to stop with
all this release a system (GBA), release another (GBA SP), release
a system (DS), release another (DS Lite) crap and get with the
program and do the shit. Lure the 3rd parties to their table.

actually all i've been playing is my gba lately.
i packed some older systems at home.
maybe i need to bring them to the apt.
but i'm fine with my NEO here.
god i wish i had 2000 though.
next gen hasn't impressed me since the dc though.
i'm waiting to be bushwacked.
as far as i'm concerned the 360 is just a face lift (with admitably good live interface,
downloadable demos and all, very cool parts of it)
and i'm assuming that's what the ps3 will be, except with a hd dvd player or blu ray
dvd player, whatever the fuck sony is trying to cram down consumers throats.
they need to integrate something with the psp, but i don't really think that will happen.
