They did it in 2020 when they were gaslighting us about race relations back then. She even called a Biden a racist during the primaries. Surely THAT would have gotten her the nod since that was their bag back then.
Now that DEI is dying a slow death in the cultural eye, this is the perfect time to walk away from Harris.
Not saying she won't be the nominee that loses to Trump this year. Just that none of that is a guarantee she's the one.
They're better off saving a worthwhile candidate for the next election rather than starting the uphill battle against Trump with 4 months left.

This is my perspective. Why would anyone with any sort of political future go up against Trump, especially on short notice? 4 years isn't so long to wait if you're a rising political star or even a marginal one with aspirations. Just like I thought it was fucking stupid for Desantis to run on this go around, just sit it out, people liked him, and he was young. He could have gone into the next cycle as the heir apparent to the Trump coalition, instead he got pantsed in the primary by Trump and instead Vance is now poised to take the mantle in 2028. Hell, even going back to 2016 maybe people forgot that Trump destroyed Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, and Marco Rubio and Marco is just now recovering by spending 8 years devoted to getting back in his good graces while Christie took the alternate path of becoming a never-Trumper with the result that no one bothers to listen to him anymore.
That's a long way to say, I think it's obvious Harris has little political future, she's so artificial and unlikable that she's in HillDawg territory. She's from California so adds no value for the electoral map, and she was plucked out as a literal DEI choice for VP. Good for her, but all the easier to cast her aside once she gets trounced in November.

Slower moving in what direction? I love how people on the right all think the country is sliding to the left, and the people on the left all see us sliding to the right. There's an authoritarian state waiting at both ends of the road, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Let's be honest here, the loudest bunch current of Democrats are right at the edge of outright socialism and the so called Republicans are basically 1960/70's era Democrats.
I think it's all the infighting on all sides that keeps us from just sliding off into outright chaos at this point.
I do see quite a few of the younger folks embracing a more right leaning stance but it seems reactionary to the current popular culture.
Buy yeah, I'm not sure how much it really matters in the end.
I just know that this current puppet show is more entertaining than anything from Hollywood right now.
