can't speak to how widespread the issue is, but I think the reaction of the impossibility of it is weird. haiti is a country in a civil war with poverty and famine everywhere. to think people in survival mode for that long wouldn't retain some of that mentality when in the US doesn't seem logical. I regularly use China as an example, sometimes semi-jokingly, but seriously the people changed after the great leap forward. they eat anything and everything to extinction because of the survival mode mentality instilled in them and passed on. less westernized migrants to the US carry some of that here.

I went to Korea in like 2017 and I think it was a "soft-ban" on dog consumption. Places that served it didn't advertise it and it seemed like it was through word of mouth. dog eating is definitely on decline. most are just older folks continuing the "tradition". my post was just me fucking around.

which reminds me of an incident like 8 years ago of koreans got caught driving around in a white van around I-495 butchering dogs.
