Is it too soon to ask what you think the game might sell for when all is said and done? I'm pumped, game looks phenomenal!
On the subject, if any of you guys are Linux pros or know anyone who is, we are looking for a bit of support with video drivers and such. We have budget to pay for the assistance.
Sorry I've been a bit MIA lately, the whole team has been really busy working on the project and I try not to bump this thread until I have big developments to share. However, since a few questions have come up, I thought I should chime in.
We've had a big breakthrough a few weeks ago and we now have a fully functioning prototype of our hardware platform! It can be transferred to any JAMMA compatible cabinet and is 100% controlled and powered through the standard wire loom. Tentatively we have named the hardware platform "Airframe" but that name may change before the final release. As I've mentioned before, it allows for any independent dev using Gamemarker, Unity and many other middleware platforms to publish straight to this hardware. We are working with a 3D printing specialist right now to develop a custom enclosure for the motherboard. After that we will have all the components ready for our conversion kit.
The plan right now is to include:
100% JAMMA compatible game board (power, controls, sound, coins, etc.)
USB software stick
Control panel overlay (very tough polycarbonate laminate)
Choice of Marquee (each boss has its own dedicated marquee art)
Cabinet side art (vinyl with adhesive backing)
Wall poster (to promote the game in the arcade)
We have a build ready with the first two missions of the game that we will be offering to folks that really want to get their hands on the game as soon as possible. Software updates will be sent via USB drives as each new mission is completed. Right now, we are mainly targeting arcade operators, but we will consider "one off" agreements to home collectors as well (obviously the Neo-Geo.com friends get preference). The price is not yet completely final but based on our market research, we believe it will be the most inexpensive full conversion kit ever offered to arcades.
Here are some quick updates in case you missed them.

Regarding @xian xi's question about stereo sound.
This isn't the first time we've had this request, I'll have to get with Phil (he's in charge of the hardware) to see what the options are. The good news is that all the sound/music is designed in stereo then summed to mono, so the content is there. I'll let you know what I find out.
I'm a big fan of having a line level audio jack output on the board, like a CPS2 A board. Would probably be easier to use a headphone jack for design simplicity though, it's easy enough to adapt to RCA if needed.
Good news for those who concerned with stereo sound. I've confirmed that the hardware WILL include a line level audio output for cabinets with stereo amps!
Also, I'm looking for a talented artist to do commission artwork for the poster that will be included with the kit. I'm looking for someone who can handle the 90s Capcom and SNK promotional art style. Please send any leads you guys might have my way!

So the skycurser guys just posted a completely redone ship over at their site!

"You asked for it, you got it! Allow us to present the new and improved SKYCURSER player sprite. It's roughly 25% smaller than the previous build and features a much more detailed design. There are tons of other animations not included in this gif, but we think this gets the point across. Expect new video featuring the updated ship are soon!"
I wasn't sure what to think myself when they said they'd be making the ship smaller, as I do love the old design, but the new design is pretty amazing! It's definitely more unique.
