A friend of mine got robbed and shot in teh leg at the Gamestore he owns/runs tonite. :( For the locals that know it it's called Game Force and there located on the corner of Holly and Florida. He's a good guy..the kind of Crazy Uncle guy everyone should have. I've been buying games from him for the last 10+ years...think i put one of his kids through college. :) His gamestore is the best place in Colorado IMHO. Just hope he's gonna be ok....despite everything i just typed i am pretty much speechless. Sorry for the blab..but i do feel better.

Jesus! That's terrible, I hope he recovers well.

Robbing a game store should carry the same negative conotation as robbing a nursery.

Still, if I ever had a game store I'd probably open it in an indoor mall to add a little extra security and dissuade some of the more crazy crazies.

That sucks, I haven't been to that Game Force, but I have been to a lot of Game Forces in my lifetime. Best wishes to him...

Not to mention, if they also stole games, they will probably resell to Gamestop or EB for no questions asked. What a world.

That's horrible. I also have been a loyal Game Force devotee at various points throughout my life, and those dudes that run them are always nice guys.

That seriously sucks that some crazy motherfucker would shoot someone to rob a videogame store.

I'm glad he's gonna be okay.

Sorry to hear this, and I hope things work out ok for your friend.

People like this need to be wiped out from existence. Fucking scumbags.

That really sucks...

This following story really hit close to home for me too, I think, because I have friends who could've been in this guy's place. Read the links in order:

This was very weird and awful, but the way you framed this I was expecting some really weird twist at the end. Still very sad.

Sundance, that's terrible. I hope your friend recovers (both physically and mentally) as soon as possible.

This quote from the first link really sums up the situation.

This is probably a first: the first time a victim's final blog entry was used to solve his murder. Frankly, that's a "first" I would have been willing to wait forever for.

sorry to hear that.
my friend got robbed the first night of work at the game store
we worked at. also there was plenty of shady things going on there.
well.
around there.
one time some guy left money under a floor matt to one of the entrances
to the store, like 100$.
and another guy who worked there with me. he was a dumbass dick btw,
went out, picked up the money and took it to the back.
soon some guy and a woman came up and questioned him about it
and he gave the money up.
kinda pussy thing to do.
personally i would have left the money there and just minded my own business.
i'm sure he's lucky he didn't get shot over something stupid like that too.

Of course you do, our women have better teeth. ;)

We also don't have a brewing debate over knife-control.

Than a country that get's squimish over a single kitchen knife.

Thank God he is alive...

... I once knew a guy that owned a game store that was shot and killed because of some gunmen and an extortion thing going on in Jamaica.

Talked to Mickey last night. He's back to work this morning (sat). Apparently it was like i thought, a cheap .22 cal gun and it was a thru & thru. The 2 punks took his ID and another workers ID to threaten them since they knew they were on camera.

Another weird twist to the story: Apparently there were 2 other shootings in the area on that night (thur) and its very possible that it was teh same 2 guys. Reports say that the suspects are in custody. I don't think this is a extremely horrible place to live. Things happen on occasion yes, but its rare that a shooting or shooting spree happens. I'm hoping for more good news soon. Thanx for the support.
