I routinely get people saying or spelling my name wrong, even after they've seen/heard it.

I never realized "Taylor" was such a befuddling name.

This shit happen to anyone else?

Jason is pretty simple. I've seen people spell it wrong but never pronounce it wrong.

People can't read, spell, or talk anymore.

It's not just you. Ask someone to spell simple words like scissor and vacuum on a piece of paper. Sit back, and enjoy the mental strain it puts on them. Millennials are dumb.

Lots of room for error there.

My first name is Mohsin, pronounced mo-sin

The "H" throws people off, so the most common mistake I get is Moshin, but I've also been called..

Moishe
Molson
Moses
Morris
Moesha

Just to name a few...

My last name is Shultz. Notice, no "c". Yet even when I spell it out to people and watch them write it down, they invariably spell it Schultz.

I understand that either way is a common enough to create confusion, but when I'm spelling it out to you, you'd think you could at least make the effort to try to listen for the correct spelling.

My real name is Aria and people always fuck it up. Its pronounced like Ari-yah but most say Area.

Some people like to add things to it, I get called:

Aries
Arias
Arial
Arian

I guess since westerners are used to it being a girls name, they get confused when they hear it and just assume they herd it wrong.

My first name is Mohsin

You Persian bro ? My uncle has the same name.

Often times people are given way too much credit when it comes to their level of stupidity.

Having a unisex first name fucks with people way more than it should. It's one of the main reasons I use the Mr. prefix now almost out of habit. It bugged me a lot when I was younger....until......I watched this movie......

Forever my whole life but you get used to it.

My name is Aodhan, pronounced Aiden or Aden.

That's what you get with Gaelic names.

Almost every day. Both my first and last names are potentially first or last names so people refer to me in e-mails and over the phone by my last name ALL THE TIME. Doesn't bother me... I'm totally used to it but I had teachers who would go whole school years not getting my name right and I had a client at an old job that I worked with for over three years that would get my name correct and then screw it up within the same sentence. I don't even correct people any more. I just sign e-mails with my actual name and people who are paying attention eventually figure it out.

Bonus Points: Middle name is "Taylor" which could also be a first or last name.

My first name (Chris) has never been a problem. It's my last name that people fuck up both the spelling and pronunciation of. But that's a lot less annoying than if it were my given name.

My last name is Lovelace

Yes…Lovelace. As in the word "LOVE", plus the word "LACE". Sounds just like you'd think it would.

You would think a last name this easy would be easy to figure out….NOPE. Apparently, not so much. It is butchered all of the time...

You'd think the simple words would be easiest. Last name is "CHAPEL" but they butcher that so damn much.

"Yes people...pronounced just like the church chapel!!!"

For 33 years I've been getting this

My name here is my name. Kiel.

I will forever be called "keel" instead of "Kyle" which is how it's said.

To be honest I'd pronounce that Keel on sight too.

The story of my life. My first name is "Daniele" and is pronounced like the English girl's name "Danielle". My name is French though and the pronunciation is unisex in the French language. Since I live in a predominantly English speaking community and am a male my mother added an "e" on the end so people would pronounce it right. However upon seeing me people always try to give it the english pronunciation of "Daniel". Or if they don't know I'm a male they take it upon themselves to add an extra "l". It's so fucking annoying especially when I get award plaques cuz it's always spelled wrong.

My wife, step-son and daughter all have name problems as well. We're a family of annoyed people.
