I think this is the first time we've seen the Mayan Jungle levels and some new enemies like the natives with the huge masks.

Considering the last of the three MS games came out 24 years ago, that's not all that crazy really.

I wouldn't bet my money on it as Apple is in a transition phase between Intel and Apple Silicon and developers are in kind of a rough spot.
While new Macs support Intel apps via Rosetta 2 it might still yield problems.
It could be a while before we start seeing new games being released again on macOS unfortunately.

Dotemu also confirmed a physical release for Metal Slug Tactics (details to come), as well as an original soundtrack composed in full by Tee Lopes (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Sonic Mania, Streets of Rage 4’s Mr. X Nightmare DLC), with a physical vinyl release through Kid Katana Records.
