Last Mercenary on Netlix

I thought this was a lot of fun, kind of reminded me of a 90s action comedy/ martial arts flick, with a nonsensical story, almost like something Jackie Chan used to make. Plus Van Damme does a little dancing and wears funny wigs.

I do get a little sad seeing Van Damme so old looking now.
I remember watching him in Expendables......... 25? Whichever one it was he was in and was the villain. Like the whole time I was like hell yeah its gonna be JCVD!! Lionheart bisshh!!

And then he took off his sunglasses. Ho-lee shit. Talk about bags. That dude got old.

Still tho... JCVD

He was looking pretty rough even back when he made JCVD.

I mean Bloodsport was over 30 years ago. Even if dude hadn't partied pretty hard (which he did, by all accounts), 60 is still 60.

I liked JCVD in Expendables 2. He was old…but so was everyone else.

You can smoke weed and drink in moderation and look fine. You just can't drink 6L or be doing lines off a stripper's ass in your 40s and not expect to look like shit when you're 60.

Doing lines off a stripper’s ass may be worth it. Recently found out there is a strip club near me who features a rotating list of porn stars who strip there. Might be a good time for me to start doing Coke.

Pretty sure JCVD did all of the cocaine there was in the entire 1990s. At that to 5 marriages, a pro kickboxing career, being 60, and endless quantities of booze and it's a miracle he looks as good as he does.

Pretty Maids All in a Row - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067610/

Somebody pointed me at this movie and it was too strange to pass up. Amazon has a really cheap, trashy DVD that looks like a Kazaa VCDrip you'd find in 1998. It's totally worth the $10, though. It's like a disaster movie but with an ethical disaster instead. I spent the whole time simply in awe of how far this movie goes.

Spoiler:
It's written and produced by Gene Roddenberry right after Star Trek went off the air :keke:

Finished the third of the Fear Street movies last night. I liked them for the most part, with the middle one being the best of them IMO (the extended homage to Jason Voorhees' original mask was a nice touch). Among the upper tier for Netflix originals.

Wait, Idris is playing dead shot?

I don’t know why but that makes me want to see this.

He plays Bloodsport, which for the purpose of this movie, is the same. Peacemaker, played John Cera, is also playing Will Smith sort of.

I forgot Idris was in this. If he cancels the apocalypse in the movie I’ll see it.

I’ll see it anyway because like M, I have bad taste.

I'm not interested in the Suicide Squad at all. Which makes me think I'll probably enjoy it. I have zero expectations and the trailer made zero impact on me. But yeah, James Gunn can probably turn this into something.

45 minutes in

it’s about what we expect from the previous movies (Suicide Squad and BOP).

First few minutes were good.
glad it’s free with my subscription.

Ok, it was fine. Not gay, which is strange these days. No heavy love interest. Also strange these days. If anything, this movie was about everything that wyo believes to be true. Take that as you will, or don’t. It’s forgettably enjoyable.

I enjoyed it, it's goody as fuck and super violent.

The camera work is incredible. Also glad to hear a different Pixies song used in a movie for once.
