Hobbes and Shaw was dumb as hell but fun.

I did love Crank.

You guys seen the shit Bruce Willis is cranking out? I heard he is on set 1-2 days, films all his scenes, and getting paid a flat rate of 1 million a day and the shit movies can put him as the headliner even if he is only in 10-25% of the movie.

LOL Callous disregard of the Pandemic? Meanwhile Disney World has been open since the early spring and Disney Land since early summer.

Holy shit Disney is going to lose this lawsuit, hard.

So yeah... The Green Knight. I'm gonna have to watch it a second time. While there's some really striking stuff visually and I liked the performances, there were parts that really dragged (to the point that I felt myself nodding off in the theater). I was also on my third 9% beer at that point so that could've been on me. I'm just grateful for a halfway intelligent film sneaking its way between the cracks of endless Marvel/action trash.

At least I knew those ones already. It was Rambo II and III I hadn't seen before. Which was surprising really considering those were the actual popular ones.

both crank movies are great.

Watched Flesh Gordon like some weeks ago. I was surprised to see how much this mirrored the original serial, it really is a parody of it instead of just borrowing the "man goes to space fight man in chinese makeup" vague setting. I thought many of the gags were funny too, but they're nothing to write home about. The stop motion animation was great though!

Average parody movie that is supposed to be a pron but will never commit to it (it's pretty clear it was once a hardcore porno trimmed down to a sex comedy though, you can tell from the few incidental sex scenes they left in that show the full in-and-out if you pay attention to them, like the orgy in Wang's room). Recommend a watch but don't go out of your way to see it.

edit: I forgot to mention suzanne fields is pretty hot in the scenes she's in 👀

MY ASSSSS, MY HEMORROIDS, THE SHAME... UP YOURS FLESH GORDON

My Science Project- Gearhead kid and nerdy cute girl find an alien warp drive that opens a portal that bends time and space. Shit gets out of control when they show it to the hippy freak science teacher (Dennis Hopper). Super 80's and fairly adult what with all the swearing, beer drinking and smoking. Fisher Stevens plays the buddy character who is the most bizarre and aggressive italian/NY stereotype imaginable.

Weird ass movie with some okay special effects and sci-fi lite teen shenanigans. Kind of like Bill and Ted meets Explorers.

This is like the third time you've mentioned Flesh Gordon. I think you have a fetish for it.
I don't see how mentioning it once on a Flash Gordon thread while the movie was fresh on my mind constitutes a fetish but ok. Hopefully no Chinese agent is reading your daily mentions of Mao :lolz:

Speaking of Mao this reminds me I torrented The Deer Hunter. I know what I am watching tomorrow.

Loved that movie as a kid. Haven't seen it in years.

My friend from another forum pointed out how utterly stupid the plot for The Deer Hunter is, and I predicted I wouldn't be able to watch it again without hating it. I was completely right. Also lol in an HD transfer the stock footage used during the vietnam section is even more painfully obvious.

At least the russian roulette scene in the vietnam war portion of the movie remains one of the greatest scenes in cinema, even if the premise also doesn't make all that much sense... who the fuck would be dumb enough to hand prisoners a gun with 3 rounds for russian roulette? De Niro and Walken sells the scene beautifully though. MAO!!!

I kinda cheated and skipped over some scenes but it can't be helped.

if he pulls the barrel from his temple, or in any way looks like he wants to be a hero, he'll get a bullet in the back of the head. He knows the rules. Eventually a new guy will show up and remind everyone the rules.

Watched Master & Commander: Far Side of the World again for the first time in maybe 15 years. Great stuff.

Watched Raya and the Last Dragon. Ehhhhhhh. Kids liked it.
Great movie. General sense of dread when they run into that superior ship. I remember when it was released and didn't care for it when I was younger. Had to become a man to really sit down and enjoy it.

Rewatched American Ninja and it isn't bad but not as good as American Ninja 2: The Confrontation.

Saw Takashi Miike's First Love a few months back and loved it. Go check that out on Amazon Prime.

Jungle Cruise
It's a lady Indiana Jones + Pirates of the Caribbean, but slightly toned down.
Great setting and characters. The CGI seemed like a step backwards or maybe they weren't trying as hard for the kids watching this movie. The scenery was great, but the CG characters looked like SquareEnix cutscenes. Quite creative but very cartoony. They are probably technical achievements with all the fluidity and movement, but they looked super fake.

Overall, I would recommend it as family entertainment. You feels very Disney. One of the better movies this year.

Last Mercenary on Netlix

I thought this was a lot of fun, kind of reminded me of a 90s action comedy/ martial arts flick, with a nonsensical story, almost like something Jackie Chan used to make. Plus Van Damme does a little dancing and wears funny wigs.

I do get a little sad seeing Van Damme so old looking now.
