Dallas trying to be #1 seed killers again. Hoping the Thunder pull this off.

Denver/Timberpups is a tossup at this point.

Feels like this is where the Nuggets having that playoffs experience/TWolves being a younger team is gonna favor Denver unfortunately, especially if they take Game 5.

Pacers-Knicks is also suddenly a lot more interesting

Two things turned this series:

-Nuggets started setting much better screens in game 3. In games 1 and 2 their screens were lazy and they weren't even making contact, so the defenders easily got through the screens and nobody got any separation. In games 3 and 4 every screen has been solid and deliberate.

-Nuggets started using Aaron Gordon to break up the Wolves full court press which had bothered the injured Murray in the first two games. The Wolves still have the press on, but they have to use a smaller defender on Gordon because KAT and Gobert can't keep up with him without fouling for a whole run down the court. So then when the Nuggets get into their half court sets they automatically have a mismatch with a guard on Gordon and a big on KCP, Murray, or Porter.

Twolves hiring of Mike Tomlin as an assistant incoming

Dude... if you feel like you have to respond, just post pictures of Super Bowl XXII. Getting butthurt just gives him what he's looking for.

Congrats to the Nugs though. Real championship teams have grit.

I always assumed that was the case but since 90+% of the internet is frothing at the mouth over some stupid shit (and lord knows we've seen no shortage of people getting bent out of shape on here over the dumbest shit imaginable), I figured throwing up a flare was worthwhile for clarification if nothing else.

Carry on.

I still want Timberwolves vs Knicks finals. :buttrock:
Unfortunately Jalen isn't the same with his injury and OG is out. Alec Burks isn't Evan Fournier is the best thing I can say about game 4.

This thread is definitely better without Jokic stats.

Bogdan disappear too those 2 from Detroit was supposed to help with scoring , looks like if hartenstein leave as a free agent. Then Knick will pick up edey as replacement with their late first round pick . For the 15m They probably want to put it toward resigning OG and another star player.

Jokic the first player ever with at least 40 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, and 0 turnovers in a playoff game.

Would love to be a fly on the wall in the NBA marketing meetings about how hell they will sell the best player in the league, a 3x time mvp who has zero marketability and plays for a small market team 😂

Ant is 22 years old and plays both ends. Future is brighter for the Timberwolves even if they lose the series. It's not over yet.

They will market it as whole via sports gambling, sideshows TikTok and inside the NBA . The only marketable player last few year was Ja but he F that up. NBA it’s a bunch of people playing basketball in a safe and happy place , That why WNBA is gaining more viewers.

I have been desperate for a true heir to MJ to come forth and pick up the torch that he put down. In my opinion, no one has been able to rise to the next level and show that they are 'that guy'. We've had a lot of good players since that last great Bulls season but I honestly haven't been so impressed with anyone that I put them anywhere near MJ as far as competition and dominance goes.

ANT has that same fire in his belly. I haven't seen that in a player in a very long time. I've seen a lot of assholes on the court, like Harden and Embiid and so forth, but being a dick isn't the same as being the NBA's alpha. To me, a lot of the 'angry' players in the NBA since the golden age of the 90s are more like Xavier McDaniel or Gary Payton-talented jerks but lacking that true killer instinct to want to climb the hill and be the GOAT.

I see it in ANT. He is still very young but he has the tools and the drive to get there as long as he doesn't suffer any serious injury. I like his game and I like his desire to be the best on the court. That will make him difficult to play beside and against but if he develops in a good way, he will mature and become a true champion.

Derrick Rose was becoming that guy for me but then he got injured and never really bounced back.

I am excited for ANT's future and he's got me legitimately interested in the NBA for the first time in a long time.

The 2nd apron to the salary cap is going to destroy the Timberwolves this offseason.

They are probably going to have to lose Towns, Conley, McDaniels, McLaughlin, and Anderson this offseason and replace them all with league minimum contracts.

Not how that works. 2nd apron puts a hard cap on you being able to take on additional money (even through the normal ways like trade exceptions, vet minimums, etc.). It doesn't force you to get rid of assets. It's designed to combat super teams where they just pay 3 guys max money and then use exceptions to bring in ring chasers (cough cough Phoenix).

The T-Wolves are currently under the 2025 2nd apron limit anyway. Unlike the Nuggets.

You don't get it. The Wolves new ownership literally bought their team on layaway and have already filed future budget plans that intend to get all the way under the cap itself, not just the 1st or the 2nd aprons. A-Rod and Lore don't have the money to be repeat luxury tax spenders, let alone go all the way to the 2nd apron.

The Nuggets will be able to get under the apron simply by trading Zeke Nnaji and Reggie Jackson, which they were probably doing anyway.
