The animation on Tales of the Empire is fucking ridiculous. Even better than the Bad Batch final season. They keep on upgrading their engine with each show. Can't wait to see what the next animated project is; there's gotta be something in the pipeline because it can't have been cheap.

Alright goobs, who else watched the new show? The Acolyte?

All the Jedi characters seem unreasonably stupid. I know that the hallmark of the Jedi in this era is hubris and they're headed for a fall, but god damn.

You mean the SW show created by the Lesbian director/writer that wrote such classics as SMILF, Single Drunk Female, Sleeping with Other People and Dying for Sex, turned out to be a lame pile of shit. This is VERY SHOCKING TO ME!

@basic

I watched it, it's...fine? If I view these things as basically CW quality television at this point they're meeting that bar. I'll probably end up watching this and then never see it again like Obi-Wan, Boba Fett, Mando season 3, Ahsoka...am I forgetting anything?

Andor and Mando season 1 and partly season 2 are still good.

I can't imagine how much time one must have on their hands to waste even a minute of it watching Disney's iteration of Star Wars.

It was ok. Definitely not Andor levels of good and definitely not Book of Goobafet bad.

Why does every other black or semi black actor have this hairstyle now?

It looked ridic on MBJ, and it looks ridic on everyone else. They got Carrie Ann Moss to kill her in the first ep? lol

I mean...that's kinda the thing though. These things are such a minimal amount of content. They're supposed to be 'event' style television because it is only 8 episodes. And each episode is like 40 minutes at the top end, 30 on the low end. And you can drop about 5 minutes of that for an quick opening recap plus the lengthy credits roll at the end of each.

I'm not saying they're worth watching, but 30 minutes isn't busting my schedule.

that's what fami does. slog through shit he knows is bad but won't watch things that are actually good because he thought some inane aspect in a trailer was stupid.

You could be reading a good book or taking a walk and enjoying the summer breeze.

Shit you could be posting at this site about something interesting.

But you choose to use that time watching fucking DISNEY STAR WARS?

There are a lot of half hours I'd like back. Especially from Disney in the last decade.

Me and my wife (God rest her soul) left Solo and as we were driving away, she was crying. I was like 'What's the matter, hun?'

She said: 'I don't want Star Wars to suck!'

Disney made my wife cry. Mafia kicks for all of them.

Modern day Star Wars actually makes me like the prequels.

The prequels are still fucking terrible, but they're a fun kind of terrible--so bafflingly bad that they actually circle around a bit and become kind of fun to analyze at just how bad they are.

I watched all them [the prequels] a few years ago and was like: "I don't feel like committing any random acts of violence watching these like The Last Jedi made me feel like doing."

But then Rise of Skywalker came out and I literally fell asleep during it so maybe the violence issue is just a Last Jedi thing.

It's such a forgettable movie, because even though I honestly did fall asleep for like 15 minutes, I also do not remember much about it despite seeing all of it. I kind of remember the fight with Kylo and Rey on the broken ship(?) with all the waves crashing around them and that is it.

On the other hand, I do remember a lot about Last Jedi, so I'm not sure if being something I remember because it was so bad is better or worse than forgetting something that was painfully boring.

I watched original Star Wars in a movie theater last weekend. There was a family that brought their middle-aged father in to the theater blindfolded as a special surprise. Everyone was excited and happy to be there and watched a great movie (even with Lucas's computer graffiti).

Remember Star Wars for what it was but accept it for what it is now: irredeemable shit.

Yep. Nostalgia is nice but living in it is being stuck in the past. It makes it harder to see things clearly.

I genuinely enjoyed Mando S1 and S2 but can’t bear to watch after Boba Fett.

To quote the meme: Look how they massacred my boy.
