I see people keep repeating this like a mantra but do we have any actual evidence that she's an accomplice to his crimes or are we just assuming ill intent because we don't like her? Unlike, say... I don't doubt that she had some knowledge of what he was up to, much like a lot of others who claim otherwise.

That aside I think what she learned is how to manipulate people and get what she wanted by working with him. Harvey Weinstein was well known to be one of the absolute biggest assholes in the industry which is saying a lot. There's no way she didn't learn from his behavior. I mean just look where she's gotten herself. She should at best be making disposable wine mom murder mystery porn.

She has maneuvered herself into the exact right place at the right time like so many other people who have absolutely no business holding the positions that they do in the industry.

But the pendulum swings both ways and eventually it will start to even out again, it just seems to be taking a tremendous amount to make that happen since it's swung so far. I don't mean that in an anti-woke way like Critical Drinker and all those other braindead fuck faces. I mean purely from the standpoint of what creativity, entertainment, writing and story telling are supposed to be at their core.

I like how it's a new story.
Disney pretty much murdered the movie series but I like the Story ones enough.

But again, who cares, or maybe better, why does that matter? The show is atrocious regardless of what she knew or did. American Beauty is great regardless of whether Kevin Spacey is a creep or not.

That's a fair question.

I certainly wouldn't believe Hedlund's account. She stands to lose too much if it turns out she's complicit in Weinstein's transgressions. Especially as an activist LGBTQ, for her to stand by and allow those things to go unchallenged is a betrayal of her principles, one would think. Unless she never had principles to begin with, which also wouldn't shock me: she wouldn't be the first person in Hollywood to commodify virtue in service of career advancement.

She has all the earmarks of a hacktivist but it's just speculation and we need to be careful not to go too far down unsubstantiated rabbit holes. I certainly BELIEVE she knew about Weinstein's crimes. Offices are small places and everyone knows everything whether on purpose or via proximity.

But we will likely never know. Especially not now that she's working for Disney under Kathleen Kennedy and the mouse will not allow a gay woman to fail on Eiger's watch.

The best policy is to just to judge the work on its own merits, as pithy as they currently are.

But as lithy said, my point is you don't know either way and it kind of doesn't matter. Sure it would make her a hypocrite but we have no idea if she's telling the truth or not and we never will so it's kind of a stupid thing to hyper-focus on unless you plan on tar and feathering every one who was every associated with Weinstein (which knock yourself out but ask Joe McCarthy how well that goes).

Acolyte appears to be crap and she appears to be ill-suited to head a $180 million dollar television project. That's a failing on Kathleen Kennedy's part for picking yet another person based on what boxes they check and not whether they had a good idea for Star Wars or not. Whenever I see astronomical budgets it always reminds me of The Lone Ranger where there was a single shot when one of the characters flips out a pocket watch, checks the time and flips it back closed. Just for that one shot the production found the world champion yo-yoer and flew him in to train the actor for that single 3 second shot.

Hollywood has just as much wasted spending and grossly inflated salaries as the government. Why do you think all those shitty rom coms and Adam Sandler movies cost $40 million+.
