The plastic is going to breakb down slower if it's not exposed light and dust. The carts have open vents for dust to get in.
Dust is one of the only things that protects from unstable air. It has something to do with ionized particles and atmospheric micro plastics acting as a protective barrier. I don't understand all the science.
Also, if anyone is interested I can sell you enough dust to cover any and all collectables you may want to protect from unstable air. Buying from me means you won't have to wait for it to accumulate naturally.
I also have professionally graded dust, sealed in a protective encapsulation. You can just lay the graded dust packet right onto your graded collectables and it will be just like having them out of the package while keeping them in the package, for that authentic collector experience.
And for those wondering.
My dust is the best, electromagnetically static field collected.
I run dozens of old school classic CRT's daily just so that the screens can attract the highest quality dust.
Then I regularly harvest the dust and place it into hermetically sealed containers.
More over I find that what is being displayed on the CRT affects the properties of the dust harvested.
That's why each one of our monitors is hooked to a laserdisc player running a mixture of live action and animated Japanese porn 24/7.
