I actually didn't hate the last season, except for the pacing. I feel like there could've been more down time between battles and such... not thrilled with the ending, but it could've been worse

Real talk, cuz I haven't seen anyone bring it up surprisingly - what was Dany's braids supposed to symbolize? There were a lot of shots focusing on her hair.

I think it's a sign of success/victory for the Dothraki.

Is this the season finale, or is the show over for good?

When people act in weird ways and

I call this Chekov's Quirkiness. If you see a quirk in the character, it has to be fired off before the end of the book. That also goes with Chekov's Prophecies, Chekov's Direwolf, and Chekov's Plastic Water Bottle. If you put a plastic water bottle in a scene, someone needs to drink it, and the mountain needs to show up and berate that person for creating more plastic waste and destroying the planet, while hawking that sodastream piece of shit (personal experience).

That she can still get her hair and nails done even though her assistant's head got chopped off.

After the first 2 seasons... getting to know the characters and watching the softcore porn bits...

... then the next few seasons building a more indepth view of the characters and sub-plots....

Then the last few seasons where it generally went to tits...

I would give this an overall 5/10... would prob not watch again...

What was up with everyone in Dany's army looking so clean after a nuclear battle anyway

As it regards the replay value of this series, I'd say that it's well worth it for the acting, production values and to see how things were seeded now that we know how it ended up.

For certain, binging this will be an uneven experience since that last three seasons show a decline, gradual at first and then right off a cliff. At one point, it won't even feel like the same series and the quality of the writing and the pacing will most certainly not hold up.

But, like Martin's intended finish for this story, it will be bittersweet. Hearing the words 'Winter is Coming' went from one of the coolest and most ominous phrases in all of genre fiction to a joke.

Arya killing the Night's King at all, and especially the way she did, is the moment this show jumped its last shark. The finale could have been as perfect as Jon's ending was and it just wouldn't matter. A car that blows up in the final lap of the race and rolls end over end like a misshapen hulk is nothing to to be happy about. And it will definitely affect any replay experience. Knowing where these characters end up and how quickly they're pushed into those positions leaves me a bit melancholy. And not as D&D had hoped it would.

Just...fucking Arya killing the Night's King was a disaster. Maybe lower than Saner tier.

EDIT: D&D didn't write this finale to be something lasting that would hold up 20 years from now. They wrote for the people that think Tormund Broski is a good character (fucking pale shadow of the book version) and the Burlington Bar normies.

They wrote the last few seasons for luddites that will forget this show ever happened when the next shiny distraction comes along.

That is a massive crime against art in my opinion. Tolkien may have written LotR to be enjoyed by as wide an audience as could bear it, but he certainly wasn't writing it for the hype. And a lot of creators in this new digital age get lost in the creative process as a result.

How the audience feels doesn't matter, but the integrity of the story does.

I think we can all be thankful that D&D didn’t turn Arya into Iroha with a French maid outfit

Even though saner would have sexploded.

I might rewatch the first four or five seasons of the show. The show had great cinematography and acting (mostly) til the end even if the writing went to shit long before. Probably won't though, too much other good stuff out there to watch. Plus I'd rather re-watch a show that actually stuck the landing.

And it even survived recasting the lead due to cancer.

Spartacus was amazing. I had doubts about the prequel, and that turned out great. I had doubts about the recast, and it turned out fine. I knew how it was going to end, and it still amazed me.

RIP Andy Whitfield.

I have no plans to ever rewatch this series because the resolution was so weak. I am also in the camp that episode 3 with how NK went down completely undid the series. Afterwards, it just cannot recover and even making a villain out of Dany seems so trivial and I couldn't care about any of the characters any more. I don't normally get upset about entertainment but The Long Night actually made me somewhat angry (partially because I cared about this story and show). It turned out that this is just another derivative show that is at its heart, pretty dumb.

Spartacus season 1 was probably the best tv show ever release. prequel were really good. The replacement was meh, eventually got used to him.

Banshee and Black Sails are quite amazing too. i really like Banshee.
