Are what passes for this generation's elder statesmen even worth the effort anymore?

None of them seem to be able to push their teams to meaningful victories.

It's almost like the league told them they could all be the next MJ but then enabled them to demand mean fans be kicked out of arenas.

What happened to this league? Is it just me? I know I'm old but damn this generation seems soft.
And this new crop of rookie seem to like to get instagram/porn star pregnant….

Beats Karl Malone knocking up 13 year olds. Baby mommas are a fact of life in pro sports. Guys spend 50%+ of the season away from home with very little to do and there are no shortage of gold-digging hos happy to use their pussy to cash an easy paycheck. Guys should be smarter than that but the dick wants what the dick wants.

The recent generation of athletes are absolutely softer than their predecessors. Some of that is being coddled in AAU from the time they're 10, some of it is larger generational shifts in how men can/should act (which is mostly a good thing... casual racism/homophobia has no place in a civilized society but it certainly goes overboard in places) and, in basketball's case, some of it is a concerted effort by the league to legislate tough defense out of the game.

People bitching and moaning about Embiid being dirty clearly forget how the game was played in the 80s and 90s. Forearm shivers like the one he gave Brunson in Game 4 were just a part of defending the paint 20+ years ago. Not saying that Embiid isn't a bitch for a number of other reasons... just that people getting in their feelings about him getting physical with Knicks players need to take a step back and heed the words of hometown hero and infamously physical defender Charles Oakley: "do something about it".

Embiid is a flopper, he had more free throws than the Knicks in his 50 point game. There was no flopping when Oak battled against Sir Charles. He isn't a tough guy when an undersized guard like Jalen can bring him down that easy.

Not arguing he's not a bitch... only that the crying about being dirty rings kind of hollow coming from Knicks fans who idolize those 90s Riley teams.

No 90s Knick flopped or begged for free throws. Embiid should dominate the boards instead of the free throw line. That's the joke.

Doing this while bitching constantly and shooting more free throws than Shaq did back when teams were intentionally fouling him as a strategy is just the worst possible combination.

This isn't the 80s or 90s anymore. Everyone but Embiid would be suspended for what he's done in this series. He gets away with more BS than Draymond Green, who also gets away with a ridiculous amount compared to every other player in the league.

Not only the series, the whole play offs. Jalen showed the right reaction.
Knicks dominate the boards without the best offensive rebounder and without Randle. Josh Hart grabs the rebounds instead of Embiid.

Game 4 was probably the last game for Bogdanovic as a Knick. Season ends with a surgery.

I notice that too. These players past their early 30's are clearly still quite handy and good enough to be in the league but they can't do what Jamal Murray did towards the end of games for the Nuggets vs the Lakers series. It's like the sports science has given them longevity but peak performance around late 20's - early 30's hasn't shifted.

Knicks let this one slip away , all they had to do was to double maxey on that and they let him get away . They just double Jalen in the last possession in regulation cause they know he will be the one making the shot .

His 3 pointer from the logo was insane. 6 points in 28 seconds. Another intense game, really thought it was over with the 6 point lead.

This is the reverse of G2, with Sixers stealing one.

my bold prediction: Lakers will draft Bronny in the 1st round to keep lebron.

you may say it's crazy...but i'm already seeing talking heads starting to gaslight people by saying Bronny was a mid-first round talent before his heart condition. they're also trying to drive up hype/"demand" by saying other teams might draft him to force lebron into talks or to troll him if he refuses to talk/sign with them. the klutch sports propaganda machine is already in motion, fellas. lebron has too much ego to let his first born son go late in the 2nd round or undrafted.

That’s the problem with the league it’s just a group of player’s/agents that have too much influence in team and game results… porter is not the first and last player to bet on nba games .

I can't think of a worse fate than being contracted to work with your parents.

Especially when there's documented evidence of this in existence:

Another goddamn one of MPJ's brothers got arrested for DWI.

Their whole family is fuckin' stupid:
MPJ - believes COVID is a government conspiracy for population control, doesn't believe in any vaccines ever, homophobic
Jontay - kicked out of the NBA forever for gambling on his games
Coban - killed a woman and seriously injured her friend in a drunk driving crash, derailing his college basketball career and going to jail for 6 years
Jevon - latest one to get a DWI, 20 year old college player and possible NBA prospect

He has one more brother and three sisters. Who knows what else they'll get up to. Their parents are some of those homeschool religious fanatics that don't believe in science.

Close and intense series. Sixers with Embiid aren't the usual 7th seed. Maxey is their future and can hit clutch 3s from the center circle.
The Knicks are a great team and Jalen still gets better and better. Wonder where is the limit.

I think their weakest link will be health at the centre position .Might sound crazy but they should take Zack eddy if he fall late into the draft . They can keep the nova core together for a good while on friendly contracts .

Clippers gone. Good riddance. Harden, PG and Westbrook should all just retire at this stage. I’ll be amazed if they all haven’t hung it up with a year or two. Kawhi is still an excellent player when healthy but he never is much anymore so should probably just give it away as well.
