WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan Passes Away

A WWE Hall of Famer has passed away this morning. Robert Windham, better known as wrestler Blackjack Mulligan has passed away at the age of 73. Windham had been hospitalized due to several health issues, including a heart attack suffered last year.

After a brief stint in the NFL, Windham joined what was then known as the World Wide Wrestling Federation in 1967 and debuted as the villainous heel Blackjack Mulligan dressed in black cowboy gear. Mulligan teamed up with Blackjack Lanza to win the WWWF World Tag Team Championship in 1975 as "the Blackjacks". Mulligan later feuded with Andre the Giant and later was part of "The Machines" staple along with Andre the Giant, Bill Eadie, along with occasional help from the likes of Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper. Mulligan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 as part of the Blackjacks.

Windham leaves behind a long wrestling legacy. His sons Kendall and Barry were both professional wrestlers, as was his son-in-law Mike Rotunda. Barry was a member of the famed Four Horsemen, while Kendall was best known for his time at the WCW. Windham has two grandsons currently working for the WWE, under the ring names Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt.

Blackjack Mulligan is the best ring name of all time.

The only name that even comes close is Buzz Sawyer.

Being an effective mid-carder is one of the hardest jobs in wrestling.

From PWInsider:

NA was sent a cease and desist letter in March regarding TNA performer Crazzy Steve and stable The Decay, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

The cease and desist came from Ohio independent wrestler Justin Carnes, who wrestled for years under the ring name Krimson and claims that TNA is "responsible for infringement of certain copyrights that are owned or controlled by Carnes." Carnes has been wrestling since 2000 under several different names beyond Krimson, including Conrad Kennedy III.

The Krimson character (not to be confused with former TNA wrestler Crimson) is an evil clown.

Carnes is specifically claiming that elements of Crazzy Steve's performance in TNA have been directly lifted from Carnes' work as Krimson, including the usage of red mist, as well as Crazzy Steve's mannerisms, costuming and face paint.

Carnes' letter also stated that in 2010, he created a faction known as the "Dead Wrestler's Society" and that Steve, as a member of TNA factor Decay, "replicated the Dead Wrestling Society model and teamed with certain other wrestlers who were similar in style to him, which is also a blatant use of Carnes’s works."

The cease and desist letter requests that TNA cease all usage of the copyrights Carnes is claiming to own and that the company acknowledge in writing that they will comply with these demands by 4/6. The letter noted that should TNA not comply with Carnes' requests, he could follow through with additional legal actions.

TNA sources acknowledged the company did receive the letter and that it has been referred to their legal team.

Crazzy Steve has been a TNA contracted talent since 2014 and is currently in the midst of his biggest storyline to date with The Decay, a story that will play out over the next several episodes of Impact Wrestling. He has been portraying the same character for the entire run of his TNA career, although it has taken a much darker turn over the course of the formation of Decay.

It should be noted that Carnes has worked as an enhancement talent for TNA in the past, dating back as early as 2004.

The Decay should go up against The Menagerie in a "Festival of Crap Wrestling."

Remember The Menagerie??? I'm ashamed that I do.

ROH Supercard of Honor is up on their site. I'll be watching it this weekend.

In related news, NJPW will be sending talent to ROH All Star Extravaganza and and Death Before Dishonor as well as the related TV tapings.

So essentially, NJPW talent will be on ROH TV from now through September at the least.

Jeff Jarrett is pitching some kind of pyramid scheme. It's pretty sad.

MVP got hired by LU as an agent and then got fired days later for giving away spoilers on his podcast. What a dipshit.

WWE is said to be looking at signing some LU guys for their cruiserweight series thing. I really hope they stop signing guys away from better promotions. Either that, or prove they're not going to water them down or misuse them.

At least the Poffos kept their Pyramid scheme (nutrilite) separate from their promotion.

NJPW Invasion attack is late tonight/early tomorrow, live on NJPW World. English commentary and thankfully it's not Yoshi Tatsu. Steve Corino will replace both Tatsu and Striker as the color man and translator, with his ROH partner Kevin Kelly returning to the play by play.

Okada vs Naito, Kushida vs Ospreay, Roppongi Vice vs Sydal and Ricochet are what I am most looking forward to.

Supercard of Honor and NJPW Invasion Attack were both incredible. Probably my two favorite shows of 2016 so far, just a hair above Aztec Warfare. Both are highly recommended.

So apparently WWE was using an "APPLAUSE" sign on the video boards at Wrestlemania. Like they're on a public access talk show or some shit.
